Rough Casting & Natural Lime Pointing

Our professional rough casting service includes wet dash, dry dash, external rendering and colour rendering to domestic and commercial customers alike. Our team work hard to ensure the final aesthetic appearance is to your specification and can advise on mortar colour and complementing aggregates.

In recent years there has been a revival in the use of lime mortars in the sympathetic conservation and renovation of traditional buildings but also new builds and green-eco homes. In part this is for the mechanical properties of lime but also because of its environmentally friendly credentials and beautiful finish. Appropriate Lime Pointing allows moisture to evaporate quickly and directly from your building, where cement mortars, which are non porous, can force damp back inside.

It is important to re-point walls where the original lime has degraded. Not just for cosmetic effect, stone and brickwork can destabilise if left too long without pointing.
